In the iconic Katara Towers building, we also designed, manufactured, and installed the Amiri Canopy, a distinctive movable glass façade.
In this project, the façade extends outward by approximately eight metres from the main building envelope, creating a private and exclusive entrance to the hotel located within the tower. The motion is powered by four telescopic arms and three underground carriages, all operated by a dedicated electronic control system ensuring smooth and precise movement.
Above the opening, a retractable glass roof was also installed to cover the full eight-metre span. We were further responsible for the design and installation of the anchoring system connecting the canopy to the main structure, as well as for the development of the sealing system between the movable and fixed façade components.
